“May theskdjhfh of hope fill you with all joy and peace in your faith, so that in the power of the Holy Spirit you may be rich in hope.” – Romans 15:13
It's quite hard to believe that in just one more week we will be in the month of November as we will celebrate the great Feast of All Saints this year on a Sunday. But as we all know, the month of November is the time to pray for all of beloved dead, especially those who may still be in Purgatory, those who are being purified in order to be able to enter into heaven. Since we are dealing with covid issues this year, we will be doing things a bit differently when it comes to offering the Masses during this month for the dead. In years past we had our Book of the Dead up near the altar in the sanctuary where you could come and write down the names of those who have passed away and then at every Mass during the month of November, those people would be lifted up in prayers and offerings. But since we are still in a time of social distancing what we will have this year is not a Book of the Dead, but a "Basket of the Dead." We will have a nice basket placed near the altar containing the names of those who have gone before us. So all you have to do this year is to send us the names of those people whom you would like to be remembered at Mass. You could mail in the names on a sheet of paper, drop such names off at the office, or even email us and we will print them off and then place those names in the "Basket of the Dead." But any way you want to approach it this year, we will still be able to remember those people who have touched our lives at each Mass and at the same time pray that they can truly rest in peace. And for those who may still be in Purgatory, that they will soon come to their eternal reward.
